We launched a new eCommerce platform for Dermaviduals Belarus
A modern online store has long ceased to be just a product catalog with a shopping cart. For companies operating in the professional segment, a digital platform becomes part of business processes: it helps sell, interact with customers, publish expert content, and automate internal operations.
This is exactly the task we solved within the Dermaviduals project — the official representative of an international professional cosmetics brand.
Instead of a typical online store, we developed a scalable eCommerce platform that united sales, professional personal accounts, a corporate CMS, and an order management system within a single architecture.

When an online store is not enough
Already at the analytics stage, it became clear that classical e-commerce solutions would not be able to address the client's needs.
The company works with several categories of users at once: end buyers, professional cosmetologists, and the internal team. Each of these groups interacts with the platform according to its own scenario and requires a different level of access to information.
Therefore, we designed the system as a unified digital ecosystem where all services work together and complement each other.
The platform is based on:
- a modern online store;
- a closed product catalog for specialists;
- a user personal account;
- an order management system;
- a corporate CMS;
- educational and informational sections.

Architecture focused on growth
One of the main goals of the project was to create a solution that would evolve along with the business.
We deliberately refused to use a typical CMS and built the platform on Symfony, which allowed us to implement custom business logic without the limitations of ready-made templates.
This approach ensures flexibility in project development, the ability to connect new services, and simplifies long-term system maintenance.
For data storage, PostgreSQL was chosen, and the user interface was implemented using Bootstrap, JavaScript, and SCSS, which made it possible to create a responsive interface equally convenient on both mobile devices and desktops.

Special attention to specialists' work
One of the key features of the project was support for the professional community of cosmetologists.
After registration and moderation, specialists get access to a personal account where they can:
- place orders;
- work with the professional catalog;
- view purchase history;
- gain access to educational materials;
- manage their profile.
This approach makes it possible to combine sales and long-term interaction with professional clients within a single platform.
Corporate CMS without developer involvement
Another important task was to give the company the ability to manage all digital content on its own.
We developed an administrative system through which employees can work with most project entities without making changes to the code.
Available through the CMS:
- product catalog management;
- order processing;
- publishing news and articles;
- working with educational materials;
- user management;
- configuring SEO parameters of pages.
This significantly reduced site update time and made the marketing team completely independent of the development process.

Technologies chosen for business needs
When choosing technologies, we focused not on the popularity of tools but on their ability to ensure stable platform operation and further project development.
The solution is based on:
- Symfony — as a reliable framework for building scalable enterprise systems;
- PHP — for implementing business logic and integrating internal services;
- PostgreSQL — for reliable data storage and complex relationships between entities;
- Bootstrap, JavaScript, and SCSS — for creating a responsive user interface;
- Docker and Git — for standardizing development, testing, and maintenance processes.
It is this stack that allows painless platform scaling and the introduction of new features as the business grows.
Project result
As a result, the company received not just a new online store, but a full-fledged digital platform that combines sales, work with the professional community, content publishing, and internal business processes.
Thanks to the modular architecture, the system is ready for further development, integration with external services, and functionality expansion without the need to rework the basic project structure.
